Commercial cleaning, Kangaroo Island Commercial cleaning on Kangaroo Island.Planned around the ferry.

Kangaroo Island lies across Backstairs Passage from Cape Jervis, with one council for the whole island and Kingscote as its largest town. Tourism, farming, rock lobster, honey and wine keep its businesses going, from accommodation and cafes to offices and the health service. JC takes work on the island, with the crossing and the travel built into the scope.

Cleaning in Kangaroo Island

What changes across the region.

The ferry sets the timetable

Vehicles reach the island on the ferry from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw, a crossing of about 45 minutes. A van carrying machines and chemicals has to be booked onto a sailing, so visits are planned around ferry times and booked well ahead.

Equipment goes across once

Scrubbers, carpet extractors and pressure cleaners don't make the trip for one small task. Island jobs are grouped so a single crossing covers the regular clean, the periodic work and any one-off jobs nearby. The scope lists the equipment each visit needs.

Visitor and farm seasons

Accommodation, cafes and tour businesses work hardest when visitor numbers peak, and changeovers between guests can't wait. Farms and wineries have their own busy weeks. Cleaning is scheduled around whichever peak your site follows.

12 towns, one scope and one record.

We take on work across Kangaroo Island. If your site is in one of these, the walk-through, the written scope and the visit record work the same way.

Questions

Cleaning in Kangaroo Island: questions.

How is the ferry crossing priced?

The vehicle crossing, the drive to and from Cape Jervis and the run on to your site are set out together in the scope as travel. Sharing a trip with other island work can reduce that line.

Can you clean between guest changeovers?

Where the schedule allows, yes. Accommodation scopes list each room type, the changeover tasks and the turnaround window. Because island work runs in blocks, it suits deep cleans between seasons and regular visits on agreed days better than same-day call-outs.

Can a longer job run over several days?

Yes. A large deep clean or a run of periodic work can be done over consecutive days on the island, with the plan for each day worked out before the crossing is booked.

Can the walk-through happen from the mainland?

Yes. Photos of each area, a floor plan and a call about how the site is used are usually enough for a written scope. Anything that needs a closer look is checked on the first visit.

What happens if rough weather cancels a sailing?

Ferries can be delayed or cancelled in bad weather. If that happens, the visit moves to the next workable sailing, the new date is agreed with you, and the record shows when the work was done.

Send us the site. Before anyone books the ferry.

Send photos and a floor plan of your Kangaroo Island site, with your busy periods and access times. We'll look at the rooms, the floors, the kitchen or amenities and the equipment the job needs, then send a written scope with the crossing and travel included.
