Timber, stock and wine
Plantation forestry and timber processing, sheep and cattle grazing, and the Coonawarra, Padthaway and Wrattonbully wine regions shape the work. Mill amenities, saleyard facilities, cellar doors and the offices that support them each need a different routine.
Seven councils, one region
The region takes in the City of Mount Gambier, the Grant, Kingston, Robe and Tatiara district councils, Naracoorte Lucindale and Wattle Range. Council buildings and town-centre offices sit in each, alongside coastal towns such as Robe, Beachport and Kingston SE that fill with visitors over summer.
Cool, wet winters
Winters here are cool and wet, and mud, leaves and water get carried in on boots. Entry mats, hard floors and carpet near the doors take the most wear, so those areas can be given more time in the scope through the wet months.
