Pub cleaning cost in Adelaide (2026): per visit, per month and what the early window costs

What it costs to clean a pub or hotel in Adelaide in 2026: $50 to $90 per cleaner hour, $160 to $450 per daily visit, $6 to $12 per m² a month, and what the gaming room, kitchen floor and beer garden add.

A daily clean of a pub or hotel’s public areas in Adelaide costs $160 to $450 per visit in 2026, which is $50 to $90 per cleaner hour and roughly $6 to $12 per square metre per month for a venue of 300 to 800 square metres. Pubs sit at the top of commercial cleaning rates for three reasons: the work is done in a fixed early window between close and open, the toilets and the gaming room carry most of the hours, and the kitchen floor and beer garden are heavy work every day. A seven-day venue at the middle of the range is paying $1,500 to $2,500 a week before periodical work.

The per-visit figure is the whole visit: chemicals, equipment, the early-morning rate, travel and supervision. These are market ranges across Adelaide, not a quote for a particular venue. The broader ranges for other site types are in the 2026 commercial cleaning cost guide.

Where the hours go in a pub

Toilets. On a daily clean, the toilet blocks take a third of the visit and more on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Urinals, pans, floors, partitions, mirrors, basins and the bins, with descaling weekly. A venue with three toilet blocks is a different job from one with one.

Gaming room. Carpet vacuumed every visit with spot cleaning, bins, the machine surrounds and the seating. The machines themselves are not touched by the cleaner; the surrounds, the floor and the furniture are. Gaming rooms are also where most of the carpet extraction budget goes over a year.

Bar and front of house. Bar top, the front of the bar, taps and glass shelves wiped, floors behind and in front of the bar scrubbed or mopped, tables and chairs, window sills, entry glass. Timber and stone bar tops each need their own product.

Dining. Tables, chairs, floors, high chairs, the servery front. Carpet in dining rooms needs more frequent extraction than carpet anywhere else in a venue.

Kitchen floor and back of house. The kitchen floor is usually the cleaner’s, the benches and equipment are usually the chef’s. A degreased, scrubbed kitchen floor every morning is a heavy task and the drains need clearing weekly. Canopy and filter cleaning is separate specialist work; the commercial kitchen cleaning page covers it.

Beer garden and smoking area. Sweep, empty the bins and ashtrays, wipe the tables, hose or pressure clean the pavers on a schedule. Rain, leaves and a Friday night can double the time out here.

What moves the price

  • The window. Six to ten in the morning is early-morning work and is paid as such. A venue that opens at 10 and closes at 2 am leaves a tight window that costs more per hour than one that can be cleaned from 7.
  • Days. Seven days is normal. Six days with a Sunday morning skipped saves money and leaves the venue opening Sunday after Saturday night, which most managers will not accept.
  • Floor finishes. Checkerboard tiles, timber, polished concrete and carpet in the same venue mean four methods and four sets of equipment on the trolley.
  • Function rooms. Billed per turnaround or built into the week at a set number. Either way, say which, or the first wedding becomes an argument.
  • Consumables. Toilet paper, hand towel, soap, urinal blocks and sanitary bins. In or out of the price, and it moves the monthly total by hundreds of dollars.
  • Periodical work. Carpet extraction in the gaming room and dining, hard-floor strip and seal, high dusting, pressure cleaning of the beer garden and the frontage. Quoted separately with a frequency, or done when it is too late.

What a good pub cleaning quote looks like

The quote should list every area with its tasks and frequency: front bar, gaming, dining, each toilet block, kitchen floor, beer garden, entries, function rooms. It should say the visit window and the days, the cleaner hours per visit, what consumables are included, and the periodical work with a price and a frequency. It should name the response term when something is missed; a 2-hour acknowledgement and a 24-hour fix is the standard worth asking for, because a venue cannot open with the toilets undone. And it should say how the venue will know the clean happened. A record sent to the duty manager before the doors open, with the sign-in and sign-out times, each area ticked and photos of the toilets and the bar, settles the 9 am phone call before it happens.

A quote that is well under the ranges above for a seven-day venue is usually allowing too few hours for the toilets and the kitchen floor. Ask for the hours and the week’s roster before comparing the total. The guide to comparing cleaning quotes walks through the rest.

FAQs

How much does it cost to clean a pub per day in Adelaide?

$160 to $450 per visit for the public areas in 2026, depending on the size of the venue, the number of toilet blocks and whether the gaming room and beer garden are in the daily scope.

Does pub cleaning include the kitchen?

Usually the floor and drains, not the benches and equipment, which stay with the kitchen team. Canopy and filter cleaning is separate specialist work.

Are the gaming machines cleaned?

No. The machines are not touched by the cleaner. The surrounds, seating, floor and bins in the gaming room are.

Why is pub cleaning dearer per hour than office cleaning?

The early-morning window, the weight of the work in toilets and kitchen floors, and seven-day rosters. Offices are cleaned in the evening on weekdays with lighter tasks.

Can a pub be cleaned six days instead of seven?

Yes, and it saves roughly a seventh of the weekly cost, but Sunday morning after Saturday night is the visit most venues cannot afford to skip.
